Capacity Incentives

Energy saving projects that are implemented in the Mid-Atlantic region may qualify for a capacity incentive. These incentives are offered by the electric grid operator to help reduce demand and prevent blackouts. Capacity incentives are often on top of any utility rebates that projects may already receive. Both new construction and retrofit projects can be eligible for capacity incentives.

Unlike rebates, capacity incentives do not require pre-approval before installation. In fact, capacity incentives can be filed for projects that have been completed as far back as 4 years ago.

Making capacity incentives simple
Capacity Incentives may sound confusing but we will work with you to help make sure you get all the incentives for which you are eligible with no hassle to you.

  • - For projects where we've completed the rebate process, we already have all the information we need to file for these incentives and they're included as part of our submission.

  • - For projects where we haven't completed the rebate paperwork, or the project isn't eligible for rebates, we can still retroactively file for capacity incentives. Typically we only need a copy of the utility bill for the facility, the invoice for the project and a scope of work and we can start the process.

Since there are several submission deadlines, please let us know about your projects as soon as possible to avoid missing out on all the possible incentives.
